Who we are
Westrock Church was born out of a calling to reach the West Valley with the gospel.
Why Westrock?
Our name is our message.
Westrock reflects both our theology and our geographical mission.
In Scripture, east often symbolizes exile and separation from God because of sin, while west represents God pursuing his people and calling them to return, be restored, and experience life with Him. This is not an exhaustive list, but here are a few examples of this in Scripture:
Adam and Eve were exiled east of Eden (Genesis 3:24)
Cain went east after killing Abel (Genesis 4:16)
God’s brings his people into the wilderness west of Egypt to dwell with him (Exodus 3:12).
Israel entered Promised Land west of Egypt (Joshua 1:2)
Tabernacle and temple entrances faced east, so worshipers moved west into God’s presence (Ezekiel 43:1-4)
The Magi traveled west to worship Jesus (Matthew 2:1-2)
So, we’re planting in the West Valley to help people return to God—not just physically, but spiritually.
And Jesus is the Rock we build everything on.
The foundation that stands firm through every storm (Matthew 7:24–25)
The Rock who gave living water in the wilderness (1 Corinthians 10:4; Exodus 17:6)
The Cornerstone of the Church (Ephesians 2:20; 1 Peter 2:6)
The unshakable refuge for God’s people (Psalm 18:2; Psalm 62:6–7)
The everlasting Rock in whom we trust (Isaiah 26:4)
The Rock whose ways are perfect and just (Deuteronomy 32:4)
The Rock of our salvation and song (2 Samuel 22:2–3; Psalm 95:1)
The stumbling stone that reveals true faith (Romans 9:33; 1 Peter 2:7–8)
We want our very name to declare our purpose: to lead people to know Jesus and build their lives on Jesus.
Our Mission
Leading people to know Jesus and build their lives on Him.
Our Vision
The West Valley is home to over 1.7 million people, with 43% of Maricopa County’s growth expected here. Westgate sits at the heart of this expansion and we believe God has called us that area. We are praying to see a movement of God in the West Valley where the power of the gospel transforms unbelievers, believers become leaders, community is found, and generations are built on Jesus.
